Hello VGH Network, First of all early greetings for
Halloween day! Hope everyone has an amazing and safe Halloween day. Today I had
a chance to go to my local Best Buy to find a demo available of Super Mario 3D
Land. This Mario title is an original Mario game designed to take advantage of
the many features that the Nintendo 3DS system has to offer. First of all this
demo is very short, and by short I mean only one level to play. Fair enough the
demo offers the inclusion of the famous Tanooki suit. Super Mario 3D Land feels
a lot like a fusion of previous Mario titles but especially on Super Mario
Bros. 3. World 1-1 offers a very vibrant and colorful level design and what I
immediately noticed were the colorful blocks that you also see in Super Mario
Bros. 3 world 1-1. The level itself was very fast paced and simple level design
like typical Mario levels. In this game most of the enemies now have the
Tanooki power up which mixes up things a bit. Enemies such as goombas will now
try to hurt you by spinning their Tanooki tail. The level made a good use of
the 3D feature; it made me want to play with the 3D on the whole time adding
more depth in the environment itself. I found myself amused when I realized I
was playing a 3DS game, the graphics were outstanding and the soundtrack made
it even more appealing to play. My conclusion is that if you live near close a
Best Buy store, I recommend taking a small trip and playing the demo yourself.
It’s worth the time and you will be satisfied playing the demo! I’m looking forward
to the launch of this title and the demo convinced even more. This is a 3DS
title you want to make sure you have for this holiday season!
